Americans Falsely Believe Iran has Nuclear Weapons - 9/26/2014

A steady campaign of accusations that Iran's civilian nuclear program was—in fact—a cover for nuclear weapons development paid off. In late 2014 a strong majority of Americans (58.5%) believed that Iran had nuclear weapons.

Major American organizations involved in the campaign to paint Iran, a signatory to the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty, as a rogue nuclear state included the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, United Against Nuclear Iran, and the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. The same organizations worked to prevent the landmark Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action which imposed increased inspections and other obligations on Iran.

Do you believe Iran has nuclear weapons?
